Houston fireman resigns after child porn charge

A Houston fire captain has resigned amid charges of possession of child pornography and accusations of inappropriate online contact with an underage girl.

Officials say 49-year-old Saul Abraham Fiszer stepped down Friday after 18 years with the Houston Fire Department. He was placed on leave earlier this week.

Fiszer is being held in the Harris County Jail on $20,000 bond. His attorney didn’t immediately return a message.

A criminal complaint says on Jan. 10, Fiszer’s wife discovered her husband had frequently been texting a 14-year-old girl in Casper, Wyo. Confronted by his wife, Fiszer admitted chatting online and trading pictures with the teen.

The Houston Chronicle reports that (http://bit.ly/Abkkft) police seized computers and media storage devices from Fiszer. Investigators said they found at least 450 images of child pornography.
